Iliana Ilieva is a Bulgarian contemporary artist – observer, visionaire, storyteller, documentalist, provocateur. She explores the traditional oil painting techniques in a contemporary context. Iliana obeys the paint meticulously with a subtle yet vigorous style.
Her first solo exhibition, curated by Karolina Panainte, was held at Vivacom Art Hall Oborishte 5 Gallery in 2021, followed by several solo and group exhibitions in the country and abroad.
През 2022 участва в престижния арт форум The Other Art Fair в Лос Анджелис. Нейна инсталация е селектирана за официалния каталог Best of Fair и публикувана многократно в сайта на Saatchi Art.
In 2023, Iliana participated in the large-scale art initiative The Brick 2023, which brought together over 140 Bulgarian artists, and was exhibited in 2023 in ReBonkers, Varna and in 2024 in Raiko Alexiev Gallery, Sofia.
In 2023, she was an art resident of the 34th edition of the international Process-Space Art Festival.
In 2024, she realized the Ecstatic project with the sculptor Nina Lishovska in Nuance Gallery. In the autumn of 2024 Iliana participated in the first edition of Sofia Art Fair 2024.
Her latest solo exhibition Status Quo, 2024 at nOva Art Space Gallery, Sofia was welcomed by a huge public interest. Forbes magazine distinguished Iliana in the magazine’s special project Women on Top 2023.
