Darina Yaneva is a Bulgarian fine artist, a member of the Union of Bulgarian Artists and a member of the Association of French Pastelists „Art du pastel“. She graduated from the National Academy of Arts in the class of Prof. Venko Kolev and is a founder and head of the Academy for Children’s Creativity “DAYA” in Sofia.
On May 24, 2010, Darina Yaneva was awarded a certificate and a “Golden Book” badge for her contribution to the development and presentation of Bulgarian culture. In 2002, she was nominated among the 10 best pastel artists, presented in the world magazine “Pastel Artist International.”She has had over 35 solo exhibitions in Bulgaria, Austria, Poland, Croatia, Slovakia, Hungary -Budapest and Turkey and participated in group exhibitions and plein airs in Sweden, Slovenia, Belgium, Italy, Korea, Poland, Croatia, Turkey and Bulgaria.
2024 – “Poetics of the Transient” in the capital’s “Bulgari” gallery.
2024 – Anniversary exhibitions in the hometown of Kazanlak: “Shared Sacrament” – large-format pastels in the central building of the Kazanlak Art Gallery, “Peering Through Tenderness”, a series of pastels in the “Dechko Uzunov” house museum;
2022 – “Ex Oriente Lux – Light Comes from the East” at the “Kontrast” Gallery, Sofia.
2022 – Exhibition “The Gardens”, with paintings from the artist’s travels to America and China, executed in the dry pastel technique, in the event and exhibition space “KO-OP” Sofia.
2010 – A series of paintings on the theme of chess are part of the prize fund of the World Chess Championship in Sofia and an accompanying exhibition during the event.
2010 – “Beyond Silence” joint exhibition with Andrey Yanev at the “Gallery of Foreign Art”, Sofia.
In 2002, the artist was presented at the International Forum INART, Plovdiv.

As a leading force at the Academy for Children’s Creativity “DAYA” she managed several projects such as “Children of Manisa call on all world leaders for peace” project under the patronage of the mayor of Manisa, Turkey;
“What do the fish say” – a joint project with the Municipality of Balchik;
“Let’s get to know the past to build a better future” – together with the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Ankara, the project started with students from art high schools in Ankara and Kazanlak;
“Let’s Embrace the Earth” – part of the program of the Sofia Municipality “Sofia 130 Years – Capital of Bulgaria” – cards drawn by the children of the capital sent to the mayors of all capitals around the world.
Darina Yaneva lives and works in Sofia.
